Setting up leads and lead commissions

Leads and lead commissions are generated when referred visitors submit a contact form on your website.

With this feature you can:

  1. Save leads referred by your partners/affiliates.
  2. Reward your partners a commission, either upon form submission, or later when you complete the client’s project and the lead is considered converted.

Before we dive into setting up leads and lead commissions, please note that these features work only with the following form plugins:

  1. Gravity Forms
  2. Ninja Forms

If your contact form is created through one of the above WordPress plugins, all is good.

However, if you’re using any other plugin or service to build your forms or if you’re using a custom built form, this feature will not work for you.

The leads and lead commissions feature is powered by the Lead Commissions add-on. To have everything working, let’s activate this add-on. Here’s how:

  1. From your SliceWP account page, download and install the SliceWP Pro plugin. Click here for a step-by-step guide on how to do this.
  2. Once you have SliceWP Pro installed, navigate to your WordPress admin area > SliceWP > Add-ons page and activate the Lead Commissions add-on.

Now that you have the add-on active, let’s enable the integration with the forms plugin you’re using. Here’s how:

  1. Navigate to your WordPress admin area > SliceWP > Settings > Integrations.
  2. Here, turn on the switch next to the forms plugin you’re using and save the settings.

With the integration enabled, let’s connect your form to SliceWP.

This section of the article will go through setting up leads and lead commissions through each one of the integrations that we support. Just click below on the forms plugin you’re using to jump to the sub-section that interests you:

To have everything working nicely, your form will need to have the following fields: an Email field and a Name field. Most probably your form already has these fields, as you do want to know who’s contacting you, but I just wanted to make sure they are set up.

These two fields are required, as they are used to complete the information for the lead. More specifically, when a partner/affiliate is referring a potential client, when this client submits their email address and names, these will be pulled by SliceWP and saved as the primary information for the lead.

With your form all set up, let’s capture referred leads. Here’s how:

  1. Navigate to your WordPress admin area > Forms > Click to edit the form you want to capture leads > Settings > Form Settings > Lead Commissions.
  2. Here, check the Enable lead registration option and save your form.

Now, when a referred visitor submits this particular form they will be registered as a referred lead.

You can view all your referred leads in SliceWP > Leads.

If you want to reward your partners/affiliates a commission right after a referred visitor submits a form, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Navigate to your WordPress admin area > Forms > Click to edit the form you want to capture leads > Settings > Form Settings > Lead Commissions.
  2. Here, check the Register commissions on submit option and save your form.

Now, when a referred visitor submits this particular form, the affiliate that referred the visitor will be rewarded a commission based on the rate you have set in SliceWP > Settings > General > Commissions Settings > Lead Rate.
