With the Payout Requests add-on, your affiliates don’t have to wait to be paid. They can request a payout for their earnings whenever they’re ready, directly from their affiliate account, while you stay in full control, reviewing and processing each request just like any other payment.
This add-on is available only with an active Pro or Pro Plus license and requires SliceWP Pro to be installed on your website.
Activating the Payout Requests add-on
To get started, you’ll need to activate the add-on:
- Navigate to your WordPress admin area > SliceWP > Add-ons.
- Find the Payout Requests add-on and activate it.
Choosing whether to require an invoice
If you’d like your affiliates to provide an invoice each time they request a payout, you can turn this feature on:
- Navigate to your WordPress admin area > SliceWP > Settings > Payouts (tab).
- Enable the Payout Request Invoice option and save your settings.
With this option enabled, affiliates will be asked to upload a PDF invoice when they request a payout, and you’ll be able to download it when you process the payment.
Quick note: The invoice request applies to payout methods that involve an actual payment, such as Manual, Stripe, and PayPal Payouts. Affiliates set to receive Store Credit won’t be asked for one.
Getting notified of requests
So you never miss a request, SliceWP can email you whenever an affiliate asks to be paid and also email your affiliate to confirm their request was received.
You can enable these notifications in your WordPress admin area > SliceWP > Settings > Email Notifications (tab), under the Payment Requested notifications.
You’ll also be notified of any new requests on your SliceWP dashboard page.
How your affiliates request a payout
Once the add-on is active, requesting a payout is simple for your affiliates:
- From their affiliate account, they open the Payouts tab.
- When they have payable commissions, they’ll see how much they’re owed, along with a Request Payout button.
- Clicking it opens a short form showing their payment total (and, if you’ve required one, a field to upload their invoice).
- They click Request Payout to send the request your way.
Once submitted, they’ll see a confirmation that their request was received and will be processed soon.
Quick note: Whether an affiliate has payable commissions depends on your general payout settings, such as the payments minimum amount and refund grace period. You can read more about these in our guide on paying your affiliates.
How you process a payout request
When an affiliate requests a payout, SliceWP creates a new payment for them with the status Requested, so it’s easy to tell apart from payments you’ve created yourself.
Here’s how to find and process these requests:
- Navigate to your WordPress admin area > SliceWP > Payouts and open the list of all payments.
- Filter the list by the Requested status to see every open request.
- Open a payment to review it and, if you required one, download the affiliate’s invoice.
- Process the payment and mark it as paid, exactly the same way you would any other affiliate payment, using the payout method set for that affiliate.
